I did quite a few children’s birthday cards last year, as my little Miss Abi seemed to be invited to a Birthday Party almost every other weekend!!! I thought I’d upload a card that I did a little while ago.
I tend to use ‘Crazy for Cupcakes’ quite a bit, cause it’s just so cute! But this time instead of all the PINK, I opted for some Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip. Ok, ok, I did need just a little bit of pink and some girly bling with a rhinestone…. Small steps!! This layout is one I tend to use a bit as it’s simple but effective – two of my favourite things!
Have a great night xx
Before I get with the program and enter the New Year finally…! I thought I’d just share my own Christmas Card that I sent this year, well I mean last year! My wonderful friend Natalie Heaslip took the photograph of my three gorgeous kiddies, and so I thought that I would keep the card simple to keep the focus on the photo. I have used the easel card design.
Funny story – I work with a great group of people in my job as a Midwife, and this year myself and three other ladies decided it would be a bit of a laugh, and also a good motivation to get our Christmas Cards out on time, by having a little bit of a competition!! Everyone did a great job, and I did actually have my cards made by November 30th this year (although in my true style I still didn’t post them until a week later!). I feel very honoured to say that my entry won the first annual Christmas Card Competition!!!
Ok, so enough Christmas now… onto New things!
Happy New Year! I hope you all survived the Christmas period! It has been a busy couple of months around here… As you can see by my lack of posts and delay in getting anything remotely Christmassy on here!!! Once again my New Year’s resolution is to be more organised and focused on getting things done! I have two of my children off to school this year, so I sincerely hope that I may have a little bit more time on my hands to work on my creations and blog – I guess you’ll be able to see for yourselves whether I follow through or not!!!
Ok, so I know I am really too late putting this up! But I thought that the idea can translate into a card for any occassion. I just love the idea! It is so easy and you can use up scraps to make this card! I just punched out the squares with the 1 1/4 inch punch and stuck them onto a piece of card a bit bigger than the top note shape (so you have a bit of room for movement!). Then ran it through the big shot with the top note die. It’s simple and effective I think! You can layer it onto the card any way you like, and add ribbon or other embellishments to suit.
If you have a bit more time to fiddle around, you could also distress the edges of each square, or ink them to give it a more authentic look. I did these three cards for a ‘Girl’s Night In’ fundraiser, and the ladies all really like them! The tags were also really simple using some DSP, the ‘Winter Post’ (pg 26 IB&C) Stamp Set and the Large Designer Label Punch (pg 147 IB&C).
Happy Stampin & Scrappin
I am so sorry. I thought that I had taken off the password, but obviously it didn’t work! The password is ‘sarah’. I hope you enjoy taking a look!
I wanted to say thanks to all the girls who have come along and done the Scrap your Year class with me! It has been such a fun class with lots of laughs! It is hard to believe how fast this year has flown by, looking back now at everything that has happened makes me realise just how busy this year has been…. no wonder it’s Christmas already!!
Click here if you’d like to take a look at all the pages in this great class.
Very Vintage is all I can say!! This look is very ‘in’ at the moment, and I am really loving it! I have wanted to get my hands on this ‘Love Letter’ DSP since I had the first sneek peak of the New Catalogue…. and so of course it was straight on the ‘must have’ list for my first order!! I also wanted my ‘Scrap your Year’ ladies to get a taste of this look too – so here is the August pages for you to check out!
Yes, I am organised at the moment, as the girl’s only did this class last night – and here it is already!!!!
One of my beautiful neices, Ava, was Baptised in August, so these photos are of her special day. As it is not the easiest thing in the world to get family photographs these days, they aren’t exactly the most glamorous posed shots! But the idea of this album is to capture the moments that are important this year, just as they were!!!
This colour combination is very striking – Basic Black, Red Riding Hood & Very Vanilla. I have also used some of the new paper flowers, the pearl jewels, and the new Black taffeta ribbon as accents on this page. The stamp set ‘Vintage Vogue’ is just beautiful, and ties quite nicely with this DSP too! The girl’s weren’t too thrilled with having to cut out all the flowers, but it’s worth it for the end result!! I hope you liked this one too!
Apologies, I have not posted for a week now! Between Father’s Day, the Spring Fair and our other Sale Day it has just been go, go, go!!
So here is another card from me… it’s a miracle I know (as I so rarely put cards on here)!! I made this one for the little girl next door’s 7th Birthday. I just love this stamp set for girly cards!! It’s just a must to add glitter and sparkle to this one!
This was my chance to have a play with the new embossing folders I got too!!! This one is called ‘Elegant lines’, and it’s just beautiful. I am amazed at how detailed the embossing is, and I love the way the new ‘Pearl Jewels’ fit perfectly into the circles… too cute! The little butterfly on the oval is also one of the new ‘Embosslits’ which cut and emboss together. These are just gorgeous and I will be using plenty more of these!!
Stay tuned for more goodies with my NEW CATALOGUE PRODUCTS!!
Thanks for checking out my work…. Good Night xx
Here it is, my favourite to date!! I totally love these colours together, and the layout too. Simply gorgeous – even if I do say so myself!! The photos were taken when we took the kids down to Shorncliffe one beautiful Winter day in July. They had a great time walking out along the pier and down onto the beach. It was low tide, so they could wander out a long way! I managed to get a few cute poses of them – they always know I’m planning a scrap page!!
I think this page has a bit of a ‘Kelly Lane’ look to it. It wasn’t exactly intentional, it just kind of happened! It is actually a really simple page, and it’s the photos that make it! For my girls I placed white paper on the card in the sizes of the photos so it made it nice and simple for them to complete the page, and they also know what size to print out there photos.
I have tried with these Scrap your Year classes to keep to fairly standard size photos to make it easy for everyone to complete their pages at home, but it is nice to be a bit different sometimes! I use Adobe Photoshop Elements to work with my photos and manipulate the sizes. I find it a great program, and I also use it to edit my work to publish on here. For my lades, if you are having trouble trying to get your photos to work for this layout, please email me and I can work on it for you, or give you some help.
Enjoy your day xx
This is the June page for my class. Although these pages didn’t use any DSP, there was lots of stamping for the girls! The right top and bottom corners used the ‘Faux Tearing’ technique with the En Francais background stamp set, and then the other stamping was done with Priceless – a set I love!
The paper daisies use the Butterful Punch, and as these were my first attempt at them, they aren’t great, but they do give some dimension to the page. You will see more of these from me as I think they are just so cute!
Unfortunately the cardstock colours are Sage Shadow and Almost Amythest which have now retired. The Perfect Plum has stayed though. It is a gorgeous shade and I do use it quite a bit too.
I hope you like this layout – something a bit different from me! It does allow for more photos! For my ladies in the class: the large photo is 7 x 5 inches and the small ones are all 2 inches square. You could also probably add an extra photo down the very bottom if you wanted to and it would still look quite symetrical (something I am a bit fussy about!!!).
Well, it is yet another gorgeous Brisbane day – Thank you Spring!!! I am off to the hairdressers soon to get a new look… Hope to see you at the Spring Fair tomorrow! If you want more information about where and when, just click on the Spring Fair logo on my previous post!! Have a great day
WhooHoo!! The new Idea Book & Catalogue is finally here!! My apologies for not getting the link up yesterday as my terrible internet service was not letting me get on! Anyway…. If you want to browse the catalogue online, simply click on the link down the side.
